With love on Father’s Day

My Dad died of cancer in 2016 aged 75. Our family lost a wonderful Dad and Grandad who was always there for us. He took us on great days out and holidays. He looked after the kids in the school holidays and always had a packed timetable for them of things to do. He played games and read us stories. He was active in his community in Lady Bay to improve things for everyone who lived there. The community planted a medlar tree in the community Orchard on the Hook near the Trent in his memory.

It's a cliché, but you don't realise how much you miss them till they're gone. My father passed away in 2017, and I wish I'd know more about Beaumond House when he was ill, with it being so local and so accessible, and knowing the range of services they offer. It's such an easy way to keep they're memory alive, and I'd know that he'd be proud, knowing that I support them even in a little way.
